Hands-on co-learning was Stan’s style!

Stan was a cherished and committed friend of the Emory’s Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) and was one of the first people I met when I joined Emory in 2010 to help develop and direct the program. He contributed critical support and foundational ideas that shaped the development of our program and actively participated in many of our courses and events. He always welcomed MDP “learners” (including myself!) in his legendary Community Transformation seminar. This involvement continued even after he retired, he never failed to be in touch when he came to campus. Stan will be missed and remembered fondly by the entire MDP community. We are honored and blessed to have known and worked with Stan and to have benefited from his brilliance, passion, and generosity. Here a photograph of him showcasing one of his trademark bow ties and engaging in one of the things he most loved, mentoring and inspiring young people by learning alongside of them.
