Presbyterian Missionary in Africa 35 years, now in Decatur, GA

Stan was a great friend and mentor to me, beginning in the late 1970’s in Zaire (DRC). Stan visited me on a trip to an urban clinic in Mbujimayi where I was working. I had completed my undergraduate training and was taking a gap year. I was interested in global health, and discerning next steps in my life…perhaps medical school. Stan advised me to consider studying Public Health and returning to Africa, to address the root causes of the diseases and conditions that affected millions of Africans. I took Stan’s advice. Since that time, I have had a wonderful career in Africa following my Public Health training at Tulane (before the Emory/Rollins focus on international health). Stan was a true inspiration to me and keep encouraging me through church and professional connections until late 2020. Thank you Stan!
