Dad, of course!

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved father Stanley O. Foster. In the mid-sixties, Stanley and Dotti Foster, fostered a little boy named Jose Mills into the family in Nigeria.
Little did I know that offer they left that the good Lord would reunite me with my mom and dad and my siblings about 12 years later. About a month in the United States somewhere in February 1982 I made a phone call that I will never forget. I called the Atlanta phone operator and said I am looking for a Foster family who lives in Atlanta, she found out that the number I called was my mom and dad. That’s how we reunited.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for my dad. He was a role model as a husband and father. He was hardworking, kind-hearted and very influential in his field of work with public health. Whenever he visited my family and I he always took time to pull me aside and quiz me about life, and always had great words of encouragement for me. Through God’s love he has shown so much love to people all over the world.
His love for my wife and children is one I will always be thankful of. I also do remember mom and dad’s fiftieth wedding anniversary. A family friend asked dad what does my wife Janet call him. So dad being dad called my wife over and introduced her to the couple and then proceeded by asking my wife that the couple wanted to know what she called him without missing a single beat my wife said dad of course. Yes, he has always been a dad to my wife and I.
Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. Dad rest in peace for you have ran a great race. ONE LOVE ALWAYS FAMILY
