Dr. Foster was not only my thesis advisor, but gave me his personal cell phone to call anytime I was having a hard day (and often called me out of the blue just to tell me about his family). He took me under his wing and I am devastated over the loss of this hero. He gave me books and signed them, “keep shining bright” and in one of the hardest times in my life during my grad school years, he made me feel less alone. God bless this man and this public health icon who inspired and paved the way for me and countless others. Dr. Foster was a legend.
